Khouri’s Career Night Helps CUA Past Juniata, 83-60

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's basketball team saw its win-streak improve to six and its undefeated home record go to 11-0 on Wednesday night thanks to a career night from junior guard Louis Khouri. CUA rolled past Juniata, 83-60, as Khouri netted a personal-best 24 points on 7-of-8 shooting from downtown.

Khouri led all scorers and anchored an impressive Catholic effort from 3-point range. The Cardinals went 14-of-28 from long while also shooting 50 percent from the field. Senior guard Kyle Phanordwas just behind Khouri's output with six 3-pointers of his own.

In addition to leading all scorers, Khouri added five rebounds and four steals in a career showing.

The Cards led for all but 12 seconds in the game and held as much as a 34-point advantage. CUA opened the game on fire, leading the Eagles, 29-4 in the first seven minutes of the contest.

Sophomore Jay Howard posted his third 20-10 game of the season, going for 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting.

CUA also assisted on 24-of-31 made baskets as senior point guard Bryson Fonville tied his career-high with 13 dimes.

The Cardinals are now winners of 10 of their last 11 games and 15 of 17. CUA will look to keep its momentum rolling in a pivotal Landmark Conference matchup with Scranton on Saturday at 2 p.m., back inside the DuFour Center.
