JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Junior shooting guard Jalen Harris (Brandywine, MD/Gwynn Park (Md.)) scored a career-high 30 points in a physical battle and the New Jersey City University men's basketball team captured its first New Jersey Athletic Conference regular season championship in nine years as the Gothic Knights hammered Montclair State University, 82-59 on Senior Day, at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court).

NJCU (17-7, 14-3 NJAC) clinched its first regular season championship since the 2006-07 campaign when it was a 13-game, two-division format and a regular season title in the twice-around, 18-game format for the first time since the 1991-92 season. With the win—its fourth in a row and eighth in the last nine games—NJCU claims  the No. 1 seed, an opening round bye and home court advantage throughout the NJAC Tournament, which begins on February 20.
