The St. John Fisher College men's basketball program earned a 77-52 win against host Utica College in its final regular-season road game on Tuesday night.

With the win, Fisher improves to 16-5 overall and 10-2 in the Empire 8 Conference.   If the Cardinals can win their final four home games, they will be the Empire 8 regular-season champions and will host the Empire 8 Conference Championship for the second straight year.

Utica took a 3-0 lead, but Fisher answer with a 9-0 run to take the lead for good.   Fisher led 10-7 with just over 13 minutes left in the half, but pulled away over the next five minutes, thanks to an 18-1 run.  The Pioneer, however, closed out the opening period with an 8-2 spurt to make it 44-31 at the half.

Fisher would not relinquish its double-digit lead.   Utica pulled to within 12 at 49-37 with 14:41 left, but Fisher rattled off a 20-2 run over the next nine minute to take command and earn its 12 win in its last 14 games.

Freshman Daniel Morales also enjoyed a career night, tallying nine points, five rebounds and a team-high three steals.  He entered Tuesday night with just 11 points on the season.
