(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Four Saint scored in double-figures today (Saturday, January 30, 2016) as the Thomas More College men's basketball team defeated Westminster College, 87-75, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 12-7 overall and 9-3 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Titans fall to 5-14 overall and 5-7 in the PAC.

Thomas More jumped out to an early 15-2 lead when freshman guard Brandon Horne (Louisville, Ky./Male) made a three-pointer with 16:03 to play in the first half.  Westminster answered with an 11-1 run to cut the lead to 16-13 with 12:01 to play in the first half when Austin Armwood made a three-pointer.  The Saints responded with a 9-4 run capped by a three-pointer by junior guard Sawyer Pauly (Crescent Springs, Ky./Covington Catholic) to increase the lead to 25-17.  The Titans closed out the half on a 17-12 run to cut the lead to 37-34 at halftime when Armwood made a lay-up with two-seconds to play in the opening half.

The Saints opened the second half on an 8-5 run to increase the lead to 45-39 with 15:35 to play in the game when junior forward/center Simon Clifford (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) made one-of-two free-throws.  Westminster used a 7-3 run to cut the lead to 48-46 when Paul Carswell made two free-throws with 14:09 to play in the game.  That is as close as Westminster would come as Thomas More closed out the game on a 39-29 run for the 87-75 victory.

Thomas More was led in scoring by freshman guard Damion King (Winchester, Ky./George Rogers Clark) with 18 points.  Joining him in double-figure scoring was Clifford with 16 points sophomore forward Austin Young (Campbellsburg, Ky./Henry County) with 13 points and Horne with 11 points.  Horne led the team on the boards with eight rebounds, while King led the team in assists with seven and Pauly led the team in steals with four.

Thomas More returns to action on Wednesday (February 3, 2016) when it host Bethany College at 7:30 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
