Rose-Hulman, Bluffton Set for Key Saturday Matchup

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology puts a three-game winning streak on the line in Saturday's 1 p.m. men's basketball matchup with Bluffton University at Hulbert Arena.

Rose-Hulman has defeated Earlham, Transylvania and Hanover in consecutive games to improve to 10-8 on the season and 7-4 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.  The Fightin' Engineers have won four of their five games dating back to the 103-86 win over Anderson on Jan. 13.

Senior Matt Loesing leads five Rose-Hulman players in double figures at 12.1 points per game.  Senior Dillon Reynolds has added 11.7 points per game, including a career-high 23 points in Wednesday's win over Hanover.  Freshman Charlie Aimone has come off the bench for 10.6 points per game.

Senior Jimmy Miller pitches in with 10.5 points per game, and senior Tyler Duffy has scored 10.0 points per contest.  Sophomore Stephen Schueth has rounded out the recent starting lineup with an average of 7.2 points per contest.

Bluffton enters the matchup with a 9-9 record and a 4-7 mark in HCAC play.  Senior Thayne Recker was a second-team preseason All-American and averages 21.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game to lead the HCAC.  Austin Rohde is also in double figures at 16.3 points per contest.

Bluffton recently defeated Franklin 83-79 last Saturday, before falling 76-59 to Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday.

The men's basketball team will participate in the national Coaches vs. Cancer initiative at Saturday's game, with coaching staffs working the game in sneakers.  The men's squad will also display pink warmups in support of the day's overall theme of breast cancer awareness.

After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman returns to action at Franklin College next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
