William Paterson Men’s Basketball Suffers 90-82 Loss at Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. – William Paterson (9-8, 4-6 NJAC) suffered a 90-82 men's basketball loss at Ramapo (11-6, 7-3 NJAC) Jan. 20.

 

Senior guard Bright Mensah (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) scored 33 points for the second straight game, adding nine rebounds. Senior guard Terik Bridgeman (Harlem, N.Y./Nia Prep) posted 15 tallies and 10 rebounds, while senior guard Manny Hernandez (Paterson, N.J./Paramus Catholic) added 10 points.

 

The Roadrunners built a 51-40 halftime lead by shooting 63.6 (21-33) percent from the field. The Pioneers chipped away, eventually knotting the score at 63-63 on a Mensah jumper with 9:22 to play, but Ramapo made 16 of its 19 (.842) free throws during the game's final 20 minutes, including all four down the stretch after WP made it an 86-82 margin with 1:21 remaining.

 

Senior forward Frank Nock paced the Roadrunners with 18 points. Sophomore forward Nick Stanek collected 12 tallies and 11 rebounds.

 

William Paterson will host Rutgers-Camden Saturday, Jan. 23, at 3:00 p.m.
