Bethany's Rudolph Earns Second PAC Player of the Week Honor

Jan. 4 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Coming off perhaps the best all-around statistical week of his career, Bethany College junior men's basketball standout, Antonio Rudolph, has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced the PAC on Monday afternoon.

Rudolph (New Castle, Pa./New Castle), helped lead the Bison to a 2-1 mark during the week, improving the team's record to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the PAC. The junior guard averaged a double-double, notching 14.3 points and 12 rebounds per night. He also added six assists and 2.3 steals per game in the three-game stretch.

In the first game of the week, Rudolph turned in the team's top rebound performance, pulling down nine boards to go along with nine points and six assists. He then followed that by putting up career highs in both points (26) and rebounds (15) in a win over Bryn Athyn (86-72). In the victory, Rudolph played efficiently, shooting 11-of-14 from the field.

The junior then led the Bison to their third conference win of the year, a 62-46 victory over Chatham. In the win, Rudolph totaled a team-high 12 rebounds, adding nine points and posting a season-high seven assists. He helped Bethany lock down defensively, holding the Cougars to 23.5% shooting, the lowest by any Bison opponent since 2008.

Having not scored less than nine points in any of his last five starts, Rudolph has improved his points per game average to 11.5 on the season, ranking second on the team. He also currently ranks first in the PAC in rebounds per game (8.7), second in assists (4.5) and assist/turnover ratio (+2.1) and sixth in steals per night (1.6).

With the honor, Rudolph becomes the first player in the conference this season to have earned multiple PAC Player of the Week awards. He also earned the honor following the first week of the season when he posted 13 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in a 100-67 win over Penn State – DuBois.

Bethany will be back in action on Wednesday, January 6, when they play host to Thomas More College. The matchup is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start.
