Hood Stampedes Past Penn State York

FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College dispatched visiting Penn State York 85-56 en route to the first 4-0 start in the history of the men's basketball program.

Scott Bolen (Ashton, Md. / Sherwood) led four players in double figures with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including two 3-point field goals. The trio of Trevor Magnuski (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley), Michael Robinson (Upper Marlboro, Md. / Pallotti) and Luke Casey (Nanticoke, Pa. / Crestwood) each scored 10 points. Ian Eversull (Ijamsville, Md. / Urbana) grabbed seven rebounds off the bench as Hood held a 55-31 edge in rebounding.

Hood had 15 steals in the contest, including three each by Magnuski, Jared Ruiz (Frederick, Md. / Oakdale) and Hill. 

The Blazers steadily built its lead in the first half, going ahead 36-19 on a bucket by Bolen before settling for a 38-23 lead at halftime. 

The Nittany Lions cut the lead to 47-37 on a field goal by Justin Luton with 15:37 left in the game. The Blazers answered with a 26-9 run that put the game out of reach. Bolen scored 10 of his 14 points during the run.

Damien Hamler scored a game-high 20 points for Penn State York. Lucas Jewell had five rebounds, nine assists and three steals.

Hood's 55 rebounds tied for the third highest single game total in Blazer history and were the most since November 2013.

Hood is idle until December 2, when the Blazers head to Albright for their Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth opener.
