The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2014-15 Division III Metro Men's Basketball All-Star Teams on Monday.

Freshman
Chimaechi Ekekeugbor was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year and Granville Gittens a First Team All-Star. The voting was completed by coaches within the ECAC Division III Metro Region.

Ekekeugbor earns ECAC Rookie of the Year after making an immediate impact for the Bearcats this season. The freshman did most of his damage from off the bench, averaging 13.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while also helping lead the Bearcats to the CUNYAC Championship and a trip to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament

Ekekeugbor earned CUNYAC Rookie of the Week a league-high eight times and ECAC Division III Metro Rookie of the Week on four occasions.

In three CUNYAC Tournament games, Ekekeugbor averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 boards per contest, while shooting 55 percent from the field. The native of Matawan, New Jersey most prolific game in his maiden season came on December 9 when he recorded career-highs of 25 points and 13 rebounds in an 81-70 win over Staten Island.

"It's an honor to be recognized for all the hard work put in all season. I'm thankful to have teammates and coaches that pushed me to be my best all season, and I'm looking forward to Baruch having continued success next season as well," said (Chima) Ekekeugbor.

"Chima had one of the best rookie seasons in Baruch's basketball history," said Head Coach John Alesi.  "It is a tremendous honor for both him and the program to be recognized as the ECAC Rookie of the Year and I could not be more proud.  I look forward to his continued success throughout his career."

Gittens, meanwhile, adds another honor to his already distinguished career and season by being voted a First Team All-Star after averaging 15.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. He led the team to their first CUNYAC Title since 2000 and was selected to play in the NCAA Division III Reese's All-Star game in Salem, Virginia on March 21.
