SPRINGFIELD, OHIO -- In his final collegiate game, senior Josh Edmondson (Euclid/Twinsburg) hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left, to give the Hiram College men's basketball team a 55-53 road win at Wittenberg on Sunday.

The Terriers conclude the 2014-15 season with a 11-14 overall record and a 5-13 mark in the conference, while the Tigers fall to 10-15, 8-10.

A jumper from Wittenberg's Shane Edwards gave the Tigers a 51-45 lead with 4:25 left in the game.

The Terriers would get baskets from sophomore Jeremiah Thomas (Cleveland/John Hay) and freshman Kelvin Jones (Sheffield Lake/Brookside) on their next two possessions, cutting Wittenberg's advantage to 51-49.

After two free throws from Edwards, freshman Anthony Schmook (Parma) would convert an old-fashion 3-point play, making the score 53-52 in favor of the Tigers with 43 seconds left.

Hiram would get a stop and junior Ray Gaston (Warren/John F. Kennedy) found Edmondson, who buried the shot from beyond the arc with 11 seconds left to give Hiram the lead.

The Terriers defense dug in and did not allow Wittenberg to get a shot off in the final moments to secure the victory.

The teams opened the game trading the lead, before the Tigers used a 5-0 spurt to open a 20-14 lead with 9:50 remaining in the first half.

Wittenberg would continue to expand its lead and took a 37-27 lead into the break.

Edmondson paced the Terriers, going 6-of-7 from the field and finishing with a game-high 14 points. Thomas also reached double figures with 12 points and five rebounds.

Schmook added a career-high nine points off the bench and Jones finished with eight points and six rebounds.

Hiram finished the contest 23-of-50 (46.0 percent) from the field, while the Tigers were 19-of-45 (42.2 percent).

Wittenberg won the rebounding battle 33-26, but the Terriers held a 28-18 edge in points in the paint.

The win for Hiram, combined with a home victory over Wittenberg on January 10, gives the Terriers their first season sweep over the Tigers in school history.
