ALBION, Mich. - The Albion College men's basketball team completed its season with a 71-54 loss to Calvin College at Kresge Gymnasium. 

The team's four seniors, Carter Elliott, Vince Hill, Zach Hurth, and Seth Hubbard all started in the final game of their college basketball careers. 

"We couldn't have asked for four better guys to represent our program and college," Albion Head Coach Jody May said of the group. "They are quality young men who will be very successful in life."

Hurth finished with 10 points while Elliott added five points and seven rebounds. 

Calvin, who won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship by two games, had an impressive offensive performance against the Britons shooting 48 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc while grabbing 10 offensive rebounds. 

"There's a reason why they won the league," May said about the Knights. "It wasn't a lack of defensive effort on our part tonight — they just found ways to get easy buckets." 

Austin Parks and Jordan Brink combined for 26 points for the Knights while shooting an impressive 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. 

"We tried to eliminate their guards," May said. "And they still had almost half of their points — they're really difficult to slow down." 

Corey Wheeler gave Briton fans a reason to be excited for next year. The first-year scored 13 points and collected five rebounds in just 18 minutes. Travell Oakes added eight points on 4-of-9 shooting to go along with nine rebounds. 

"Calvin was the most consistent team this year," May said. "Our goal this off-season is to become more consistent. We have a great core back. We're going to have the potential to be very good, but our guys are going to have to get to work." 

The Britons finished the season 12-13 overall and 5-9 in MIAA play.
