(BETHANY, W.Va.) – Despite 19 points from senior forward Drew Mumford (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy), the Thomas More College men's basketball team fell, 67-58, to Bethany College tonight (Wednesday, February 4, 2015) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Hummel Field House in Bethany, West Virginia.

With the loss, the Saints fall to 14-7 overall and 9-3 in the PAC.  With the win, the Bison improve to 13-8 overall and 8-4 in the PAC.

Bethany jumped out to an early 9-5 lead when Darian Bruster made a jumper with 17:31 to play in the first half.  Thomas More answered with a 6-0 run capped by a Mumford three-point with 15:21 to play in the half to give the Saints an 11-9 lead.  The Bison responded with a 26-13 run to build a 35-24 lead when Delonte' Joyce made a lay-up with 1:38 to play the opening half.  Freshman guard Daniel Williams (Louisville, Ky./Jeffersontown) made a three-pointer with 44-seconds to play in the first half to cut the lead to 35-27 at halftime.

Thomas More opened the second half on a 20-8 run to take a 47-43 lead on a Williams three-pointer with 11:20 to play in the game.  That was the last lead of the day for the Saints as Bethany closed out the game on a 24-11 run for the 67-58 victory.

Joining Mumford in double-figure scoring was Williams with 14 points and senior forward Jalen Clark (Frankfort, Ky./Western Hills) with 13 points.  Clark led the team on the boards with nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Drew Mays (Union, Ky./Ryle) led the team in assists with six.

Thomas More continues its four-game PAC road trip on Saturday (February 7) when it travels to Greenville, Pennsylvania to play Thiel College in its third-straight road game.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.  inside Beeghly Gymnasium.
