ITHACA, NY— Sophomore forward Eric Adams (Lebanon, NJ/Hunterdon Central) had a huge night of 15 points and a career high 15 rebounds, but the Saxons (10-6, E8 4-4) were unable to pull out a win against the Bombers (8-8, E8 5-2).

The Saxons led the game for the first 5:56 riding the good shooting of multiple Alfred University players.  However, the Bombers grabbed a quick lead off a three-pointer to go up by one.  From this point in the half, the game was a tug-of-war with either team jockeying for a reasonable lead.  Still, by the time the half came to an end Ithaca only held a small margin of four points, 43-39.

The Saxons shot a hefty 51.9% from the field hitting 5-of-6 (83.3%) 3PT shots in the first half.  Adams paced the Saxons with 10 points while senior guard Tim Pacheco (Mt. Pocono, PA/Pocono Mountain East) followed up with eight points and a block.

In the second half Ithaca held onto their lead behind their leading scorer Keefe Gitto.  Senior Dalton Walsh (Stockton, NY/Casadega Valley) chimed in with 10 points while Adams rattled off 10 rebounds in the second half alone.

The Bombers ended the game on top, 92-79.  Pacheco faired well on the evening with eight points, four rebounds, and two assists.  Walsh added 19 points total with eight rebounds, just missing his 6th double-double on the season.

The Saxons return to action next Friday, Jan. 30, at home when they take on the Hartwick Hawks at the Terry S. Galanis Family Arena at 8 PM.
