Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's basketball team forced 22 turnovers to overcome a subpar shooting performance, defeating Kenyon 53-37, Saturday afternoon at the Neal Fieldhouse.

The Tigers improved to 10-3 overall and 3-3 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, while the Lords dropped to 4-9 on the year and 2-4 in the NCAC.

Greencastle's sub-zero temperature found its way into Neal Fieldhouse as neither squad put up good shooting numbers in the opening half. DePauw started the contest going just 1-of-13 from the floor and went 0-for-11 from three in the half.

Kenyon took advantage of the Tigers' slow start and jumped out to a 21-5 lead with 7:31 remaining. However, Alexander Powell's three with 7:31 on the clock would be the last field goal the Lords would net in the half.

DePauw closed the half on a 19-0 run, forcing seven turnovers and going 6-for-10 from the floor to close the half with a 24-21 lead. The Tigers scored 15 points off 13 Kenyon turnovers to close the deficit and seize the lead.

In the second half, DePauw continued to improve offensively as they would not trail in the half and lead by as much as 19. The Tigers shot 42.1 percent from the floor in the half and held Kenyon to just 31.8 percent shooting.

Luke Lattner paced all scorers with 20 points and has now racked up three-straight games with at least 20 points. Tommy Fernitz notched his fifth double-double of the season, tallying 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. Michael Onuorah added nine points off the bench, while Frank Patton III scored eight points with five steals.

Kenyon was led by Cooper Handelsman who had eight points, while Tim Connolly had seven points and Brien Comey added six points in the loss. The Lords held a 34-30 rebound advantage, but committed 22 turnovers.

The Tigers tied a season-high with 10 steals and scored 27 points on the Lords' 22 turnovers. DePauw shot 74.1 percent (20-of-27) from the charity stripe, but were ice cold from three going 1-for-17 from three.

DePauw is back in action Wednesday, January 14, when they travel to Wittenberg for an 8:00 p.m. contest.
