Ammad Alkhulaidi Claims Second Straight Skyline Conference Rookie Of The Week Award

New York, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Ammad Alkhulaidi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been recognized by the Skyline Conference with Rookie of the Week honors in Men's Basketball it was announced by the conference office. Monday's award is the second straight honor for Alkhulaidi.

 

Alkhulaidi led Mount Saint Vincent to a 2-0 week in a pair of non-conference games after averaging 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per game. He shot 68.8-percent from the floor (11-for-16) and played 32.0 minutes per game.

 

Alkhulaidi opened the week with his second double-double of the season, scoring a career-high 14 points and hauling in 12 rebounds in an 82-60 home victory over Vaughn. He added two assists and three blocked shots in the victory over the Warriors. On Sunday in an 81-68 road victory at Penn State Altoona, Alkhulaidi went 5-for-6 from the floor on his way to 11 points, adding six rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in 35 minutes of work.

 

Through three regular season games, Alkhulaidi sits atop the Skyline Conference leaderboard in field goal percentage (70.0-percent) and blocked shots. He ranks second in the league in rebounding and stands 11th in the conference in scoring.

 

At 3-0 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will look to extend its winning streak on December 2 when it opens Skyline Conference play on the road at Farmingdale State. Tip-off with the Rams is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
