JAMAICA, N.Y.— York College senior Michael Woods made both his senior night and last regular season game at home a memorable one, breaking his own single-game scoring record by scoring 46 points in York's 106-67 victory over CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) opponent Hunter College.

Woods shot 12-22 from the field, 7-12 on three's and 15-16 from the free throw line on the evening, which added up to 46 and broke his own record of 44 points, which he set back on January 15 in a win over Medgar Evers College.   The Hawks played a physical game defensively to try and contain Woods, the leading scorer in CUNYAC, however he was able to draw fouls consistently throughout the evening.

Fellow senior Donald Rodriguez (13 points, 10 rebounds) earned his first career double-double in the victory and Omar St. John netted 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting.  In addition, freshman James Wolf added seven points, seven rebounds and two blocks in just 14 minutes of action.  Justin Garvin chipped in eight points and five assists.  His play made up for the absence of guard Du'Quan Lawson, who leads the CUNYAC in assists/ turnover ratio, and sat out the game due to injury.

With the win, York closes the regular season with a record of 18-7 overall and 13-3 CUNYAC.  Hunter drops to 11-13, 7-9 CUNYAC.

York has earned the #2 seed in the CUNYAC playoffs and will host the quarterfinal round on Saturday at 3 p.m. Their opponent will be announced on Wednesday.
