GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College basketball team locked up at least a share of its fourth consecutive Liberty League regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the Liberty League Tournament with a 69-50 win over Clarkson University in Bristol Gym tonight. It was the Statesmen's 20th consecutive home court victory, one of the longest streaks in the nation.

Hobart (18-5, 12-2) came out on fire, making its first seven shots from the floor, building an 18-11 lead before missing its first field goal attempt. Senior forward Richie Bonneyscored seven straight points for the Statesmen on his way to 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Hobart extended its lead to as many as 15 in the first half, taking a 26-11 lead on a 3-pointer by guard Connor Rehbaum. The junior made four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points.

Clarkson (12-9, 6-6) got within six twice in the final four minutes of the second half, but Rehbaum buried his third trey of the opening half to send the Statesmen into the break with a 33-24 lead.

After a Bonney layup opened the second half scoring, the Golden Knights scored four straight points to close the gap to seven, 35-28, but a 20-6 run over the next eight minutes bloated Hobart's lead to 21. From there, the Statesmen maintained their advantage, cruising to their fourth straight win.

Junior guard Trey Blanding joined Bonney and Rehbaum in double digits with 12 points and a game-high seven assists. Junior guard Andrew Hoy added eight points, seven boards, and five assists.

Clarkson got team-highs of 17 points and eight rebounds from sophomore guard Felix Abongo. CU's leading scorer, junior forward John Coleman (19.0 ppg), was held to just six points, second to Abongo on the visitor's ledger.

Hobart will be back in action at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, when the Statesmen host St. Lawrence (8-13, 4-8). The Golden Knights travel to RIT tomorrow for a 4 p.m. tipoff.
