NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Senior forward Joe Henain (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) bounced back from a mini slump in a big way on Saturday, leading the Mount Saint Mary College men's basketball team (16-5, 12-2 Skyline) with 24 points and 18 rebounds in an 89-51 thrashing of the College of Mount Saint Vincent (7-14, 5-9 Skyline) in a crucial Skyline Conference matchup at the Kaplan Center.

Henain picks up his 10th double-double of the season with Saturday's effort. He shot 75 percent (9-of-12) from the field and 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) from the charity stripe. He added another block to his stat line to improve his program career record to 165 blocked shots.

The Knights had no intention of letting this one be close, needing a bounce-back victory after Tuesday's hard-fought 76-70 defeat at the hands of No. 20 Purchase College. Though much of the first half was neck-and-neck, a late 18-6 run by the home team sent them into the locker room with a 39-23 advantage at the break.

The Knights kept their distance in the second half, but began to really break it open with less than 10 minutes to play. They led by more than 20 from the 9:28 mark until the final whistle, grabbing their biggest lead at 38 points with freshman guard Robert Taylor's (Wingdale, N.Y.) layup right before the final buzzer.

Senior guard Joe Stabach (Staten Island, N.Y.) had another solid game for the Knights with 17 points on 7-of-10 (70 percent) shooting. Senior guard Donte Howell (Baldwin, N.Y.) followed up Tuesday's 21-point effort by dishing the ball out for nine assists, adding 13 points.

Kahlil Shorter led the visiting Dolphins with 13 points off the bench. Gerard Fraser and Antonio Johnson tied for the team leads with eight points and six rebounds apiece. Johnson also added three assists and three steals.

The Knights were great from the field, shooting 55.7 percent (34-of-61), including 8-of-16 (50 percent) from three-point range. They were solid defensively as well, holding their opponents to just 31.3 percent (21-of-67) shooting and outrebounding the Dolphins, 48-32. The Knights were strong from short range, outscoring the Dolphins, 42-26, in the paint.

The Knights return to action on Thursday, Feb. 13, when they host SUNY College at Old Westbury in a Skyline tilt at the Kaplan Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
