More news about: UW-Stout

OSHKOSH (January 18, 2014) - UW-Stout kept finding ways to get back in the game over and over again, but didn't have quite enough at the end and fell to UW-Oshkosh, 63-59, Saturday at Kofl Sports Center.

The Blue Devils trailed 32-21 at halftime, but went on a 17-5 run out of the locker room to take the lead, 38-37, and the game remained a one possession game until the Titans continued to cash in at the free throw line and built and eight point, 61-53 lead with 28 seconds left.

Adam Wadzinski (Sr, Verona) hit a pair of 3-pointers to pull Stout to within two points, 61-59, with 14 seconds left. Stout was in a situation where they were forced to foul and the Titans made 3-of-4 charity shots in the final 11 seconds of the game to seal it.  Wadzinski had a shot to tie the game with three seconds left but his 3-pointer rolled around the rim and fell off.

The Titans feasted at the free throw line, draining 28-of-32 shots. Jade Roysten was particularly deadly, hitting all 11 of his free throw attempts on his way to a game-high 15 points. Max Schebel was 8-of-9 from free throwland and finished with 14 points. AJ Mueller was 4-for-4 from the line and scored 11 points.

Wadzinski was the only Stout player in double figures, finishing with 11 points. Wadzinski hit three 3-pointers in the final minute of play.

Stout was not so fortunate from the line, making 8-of-18 free throws. Stout was 23-of-59 from the lield and the Titans 15-of-44.  Stout had 40 rebounds to Oshkosh's 32.

Stout will be at Ashford College, Wednesday, Jan. 22 and will return to conference play Saturday, Jan. 25 when they travel to UW-Eau Claire.
