Geneseo Shoots Past Buffalo State, 85-68

GENESEO, NY—Geneseo (8-2/2-1) shot 62-percent from the field and cruised past visiting Buffalo State (6-6/2-3), 85-68, in a SUNYAC game tonight at Schrader Gymnasium.

Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Timon) led the Bengals with 15 points, going 7 of 9 from the field.  Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe's) was the only other Buffalo State player in double-figures with 13 points.

Buffalo State jumped out to an early 14-6 lead, but Geneseo responded with at 13-3 run to take the lead and never trailed again.  The Knights led 40-34 at the break and pushed the advantage to as many as 21 in the second half.

Geneseo finished with a 38-32 rebounding advantage and pounded the Bengals inside, going 32 of 52 from the field and just 1 of 8 from 3-point range.  The Knights also finished 20 of 28 at the free throw line.  The Bengals shot 41-percent from the field for the game and were 10 of 15 at the charity stripe.

Buffalo State will remain on the road this Saturday with another SUNYAC game at Fredonia at 8 p.m.
