In the first half Thomas led for the first seven minutes of the contest, leading by as much as six at the 16:56 mark. The Cougars would take their first lead of the game at 12:51 on a layup by Lucas Lalima. The lead changed twice more in the opening stanza, but Clark held a 41-39 advantage going into halftime.

The second half saw Clark pull away with the lead, going up by as much as 27 points on a jump shot by David Mercier with 57 seconds remaining. The Cougars ability to score in bunches proved too much for Thomas to handle, as they were outscored by 17 points in the final half.

Senior Marquis Pollard contributed with 14 points and a team-high seven caroms, while going 7-8 from the field in the losing effort. Fellow classmate Garen Manzo chipped in with 13 points; nine of them coming from the charity stripe.

Clark outmanned the Terriers under the basket, holding a 46-24 advantage in rebounds, while scoring 42 of their points from the paint.

Overall, Thomas shot 46.4% (26-56) from the floor, while their counterpart went 34-67 (50.7%).

Thomas will take on host St. John Fisher at 3pm tomorrow in the final day of action in the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament. The Cardinals (4-4) defeated University of Southern Maine, 77-65 in the opening night of the tournament on Sunday.
