Tommies move to 6-0 in conference

Junior center Conner Nord collected 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 11-ranked St. Thomas to an 87-58 win Saturday at St. Mary's in MIAC men's basketball play in Winona.

The first-place Tommies (9-2 overall, 6-0 MIAC) pushed their win streak against conference opponents to 16. They led by 21 points at halftime and kept a safe cushion throughout the final 20:00.

St. Thomas received 44 points from starters and 43 from bench players. The Toms shot 52 percent from the floor and had a 43-26 rebounding advantage. Marcus Alipate and Jimmy Remke each scored 11 points and Ryan Saarela had 10 points and six boards.

The Toms travel Monday night to face Bethel.
