WOOSTER, Ohio – The Thiel College men's basketball team played the first game of the 51st annual "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic Sunday night at Wooster. The Tomcats fell behind 39-24 at halftime and couldn't recover in an 88-53 loss to the #2-ranked Fighting Scots of the College of Wooster.

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Thiel College men's basketball team played the first game of the 51st annual "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic Sunday night at Wooster. The Tomcats fell behind 39-24 at halftime and couldn't recover in an 88-53 loss to the #2-ranked Fighting Scots of the College of Wooster.

With the loss, the Tomcats fall to 3-4 on the season, while Wooster improved its overall record to 9-1. The D3hoops.com #2-Ranked Fighting Scots opened up a 13-0 lead to start the game and built up advantages as large as 23 points in the first half.

Thiel was led by junior guard Charlie Thomas (North Warren Pa./Warren Area), who poured in a team-high 15 points on six-of-eight shooting, which included three made three-pointers. Sophomore guard Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. Mcdonough) added 13 points and five steals in the loss.

Wooster turned the ball over just 10 times against the Tomcats, who coughed up 13 turnovers in the loss. The Fighting Scots also won the battle on the glass, outrebounding Thiel 49-to-29 in the win.

Thiel returns to action tomorrow to take on Illinois College in the final game of the 51st annual "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
