Hot Shooting Albion Takes Down Wabash

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Albion is off to a 4-0 start for the first time in Jody May's six season as head coach after posting a 77-55 victory over Wabash Saturday afternoon.

Albion achieved season-best shooting percentages – it was 60 percent from the field (29-of-48) and 64 percent from 3-point range (7-of-11) – in the contest. Eric Evans produced a game-high 19 points off the bench and Lawrence Ridgell led the starters with 16. Ridgell was 7-of-9 from the field and he made both of his 3-point shots. Guards Vince Hill and Ryan Watson combined to score 17.

Albion trailed by five points early until Travell Oakes knocked down a jumper and Ridgell poured in a 3-point shot as the Britons forged a tie at 14. Albion rolled to a 27-18 lead as Quante Hill and Evans combined to produce eight points and Dakota Kazen tacked on a 3-point basket and a layup. Albion finished the first half with a 38-26 lead.

Albion's lead was trimmed to seven, 48-41, until Evans buried 3-point shots on consecutive possessions as the margin expanded to 54-41 with 11 minutes to play. The Britons maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game.

Albion will play its final game prior to Thanksgiving at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Heidelberg University.
