ALFRED, NY - The Alfred University men's basketball team dropped a 67-55 decision to visiting 22nd-ranked Stevens in Empire 8 Conference play Friday evening in the McLane Center.
AU (6-18, 3-12 Empire 8) was led by senior Brett Dennis with a team-high 12 points and nine rebounds. Junior forward Thomas Tsatsis and junior center Gerald Colas added eight and seven points, respectively.
Stevens, the leader in the Empire 8 standings, improved to 21-3 overall and 13-2 in conference play. The Ducks were paced by Sheldon Jones with a game-high 27 points and seven rebounds. Matt Skrelja added nine points and a game-high 10 boards.
Alfred plays its season finale at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at home against Empire 8 foe Hartwick.
