Williamstown, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams ended the 2012-13 season with a 68-47 loss against the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Williams College Ephs this evening. The Bantams close the year with two losses for a 9-15 overall record and a 2-8 mark in the league. Williams, ranked No. 10 in the nation, completes the regular season with a 21-3 overall record and a 9-1 record in the conference, and will play a quarterfinal game in the NESCAC Championship Tournament on Saturday, February 16 against Bates.

Trinity led early, 14-8, as first-year forward Shay Ajayi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored five early points for the Bantams. Trinity led, 21-19, after a pull-up jumper from the left elbow by classmate Mickel Simpson (Woburn, Mass.) and, 26-23, following a three ball with a hand in his face by senior captain Mick DiStasio (Yarmouth, Maine) and a put-back by rookie guard Rick Naylor (Sudbury, Vt.). Williams took the lead back briefly, before Trinity freshman guard Jaquann Starks (Hartford, Conn.) nailed a trey to tie the game at 28-28 with just over three minuites remaining in the first half. The Ephs ended the half on a 7-0 run that included five points by Nate Robinson.

Trinity sophomore Hart Gliedman (New York, N.Y.) scored four straight points to pull the visitors to within four points at 40-36, just under five minutes after the break. The Ephs used a 6-0 run to jump ahead by doble digits, but another long ball by DiStasio and a steal and lay-up by sophomore center George Papdeas (Athens, Greece) made the score, 48-41, at the halfway point of the second half. Mike Mayer answered with a three-pointer for Williams that ignited an 11-0 run and put the game out of reach. Papadeas paced the Bantam offense with 10 points to go with eight rebounds, while Ajayi had nine points and six boards. The Ephs had four players in double digits in scoring as Robertson led the way with 19 points.
