PASADENA, CA – Anderson set, or nearly set, a handful of season best shooting marks as they posted an 84-70 win over Caltech in a non-conference men's basketball match-up.

Anderson connected on a season high 11 three-pointers to aid in their win. Their 24 attempts from behind the arc were the second most a Ravens squad has shot this season. In addition they connected on 53.1 percent (34-64) of their attempts which is their second most accurate shooting effort of the year.

Leading the scoring charge was reigning conference player of the year Phil Hogan. Coming off a school record 55-point performance on Saturday, the senior went 12-for-19 from the floor, including a 5-for-10 effort from behind the arc, en route to a 31-point afternoon. He also tied for game high honors in assists (8).

The opening half saw the Beavers jump out to a quick 10-4 lead less than five minutes into the game which forced the visitors into an early 30-second timeout. Anderson responded by scoring 20 of the game's next 28 points to take a 24-18 lead just before the halfway point of the frame. During that spurt, Hogan scored 13 of the Ravens points.

Caltech quickly chipped away by scoring seven unanswered points to regain the lead with 7:12 left until halftime. Anderson nudged ahead in the stanza's final minutes as they took a 41-34 lead into the locker room.

Anderson controlled play for most of the final half however, they couldn't pull away. After holding 51-37 lead with 17:40 left in the game, a pesky Caltech squad quickly got their deficit to single digits.

A Pang Wang three-pointer, followed by two Collin Murphy foul shots and an Alex Runkel lay-in on consecutive possessions and the Beavers were down 51-44 with 16:06 remaining on the clock. Unfortunately that seven-point divide was as close as the Beavers got in the second period.

The Ravens largest lead of the game came with 5:12 left as they held a 74-59 edge. Caltech made one last push to get within single digits at 76-68 but the Ravens scored on four of their last six possessions to salt away the game.

Caltech placed four players in double figures led by Michael Edwards 16-point afternoon. Kc Emezie and Andrew Hogue each notched 13-point efforts while Alex Runkel chipped in 10. Hogue dished out a Beavers season high eight assists.

In addition to Hogan's high scoring effort, Anderson's Max Mollaun went 5-for-9 from three-point land to aid in his 17-point effort.
