Late Run Lifts Baruch Over York (74-59), Team Improves to 6-2

The Baruch College Bearcats needed a late run to defeat the Cardinals of York College, 74-59, in a CUNYAC home contest played on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The two teams were tied at 42 with under nine minutes remaining, but the Bearcats (6-2, 3-1 CUNYAC) outscored the Cardinals, 30-15, the rest of the way to notch the important home victory.


Granville Gittensscored 10 of his 11 points down the final stretch, which included a key 3-pointer with 5:37 remaining for a 55-48 advantage. The lead grew to as much as 18 points (74-56) on a pair of free throws by Joshua Vitalwith 57 seconds left.

Overall, the Bearcats scored 26 points off 22 York turnovers and had another solid contribution from the bench with 42 total points.


Matt Feldman(two steals) and Vital (eight rebounds, three assists) scored 14 points each, while Gittens finished with 11 points and six rebounds.

Edward Roscignotied a career-high with 10 points (6-6 FT) to go along with two steals.

Jose Arroyo led the visiting Cardinals (5-5, 1-2 CUNYAC) with 15 points (5-6 fg).

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, December 15, with a non-conference contest at the State University of New York at Purchase from the Skyline Conference. Please note the game will tip off at the updated time of 1:00 pm.
