PC Saints Hoop Drops Double Dip To Minnesota Morris

It was the 2012-13 Home Opener for both the PC Men and Women Hoop Squads, Wednesday 11/28/12. Playing in front of an electric atomsphere at the Strode Center, both team gave great efforts, however they came up a bit short.

Alaina Benson and her Women's squad began things with a 5:30pm tip off. The Saints ran out to a quick 8-4 lead, thanks in part to Junior Hannah Phillips, who scored 19 of her game high 25 points before the break. Sophomore Rachel Fuhrmann added a double-double, scoring18 points, and grabbing 11 rebounds. The Cougars though, had the advantage on the glass, out-rebounding PC 49 to 33, 13 to 5 on the offensive glass. Emily Mehr led the way with 20 points and 5 rebounds, Minnesota-Morris getting the win 84-56. Presentation (2-3) will next face Trinity Bible College at the Strode, Tuesday 12/4/12. Tip off is set for 5:30pm.

Jeremy Reigle and his men's team raced out to an early 11-0 lead in their game against Morris. Turnovers were the early difference in this one. The Saints were able to force 11 in the first half, 22 on the night. Junior Anthony Hendricks came away with 6 of his own. That helped him to 14 points. Hendricks also grabbed 7 boards. Junior Chaz Haymond scored a career high 20 for the Saints on 7 of 11 shooting. Senior Darrell Farr, limited due to foul trouble, managed to score 14 points and haul down 6 rebounds. The Cougars did have the edge on the glass, however, 40 to 28. Brendan Foss scored 20 with 8 rebounds, The Saints falling just short, 83-79. Presentation (2-2) hits the road on Friday, 11/30/12 as they travel to Nebraska Christian. They return home Tuesday, 12/4/12 to host Trinity Bible. Tip off is set for 7:30pm.
