Seeber, Fava score season-high totals against undefeated Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Junior forward Layton Seeber (Champaign, Ill.) scored a season-high 22 points to lead Gallaudet University against cross-town rival Catholic University of America on Saturday night in a non-conference men's basketball game at the DuFour Center. Seeber and company fell short against the undefeated Cardinals, 80-65, as Catholic improved to 10-0 this season for the first time since the 1927-28 season.

Gallaudet (4-6) trailed Catholic by 22 points at halftime down 44-22 but came back against the Cardinals in the second half. GU knocked down a few three-pointers and was only down six, 61-55, after a Seeber three-pointer with just over nine minutes to play in regulation. The Bison went cold and made their final field goal at the 6:33 mark as Gallaudet trailed 72-60. GU outscored Catholic 43-36 in the second half.

Seeber scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half and finished with three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the loss. Senior forward Daniel Fava (Baltimore, Md.) scored a season-high mark 14 points to go with four rebounds and two blocks. Senior guard Tony Tatum (Gardendale, Ala.) was limited to seven points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals as he made 2 of 11 shots from the field. Sophomore Tyler Crace (Westfield, Ill.) tallied eight points while junior guard Jocus Houston (Baton Rouge, La.) recorded nine points.
