Riverdale, N.Y. – Marymount University's men's basketball team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 51-48 victory over Lehman College on Saturday afternoon.  With the win, the Saints move to 5-14 overall on the season.

Reed Scott and Jesse Konadu led the Saints with 12 points.  Scott and John Magnani both grabbed seven rebounds while Konadu added six.

A back-and-forth opening half was mostly paced by Marymount with brief leads by the Lightning (9-11).  The Saints took the lead for good in the frame at the 3:07 mark with a three-pointer by Konadu and led by as many as five with under a minute to play on a free throw by Andrew Somuah.

Lehman would pull within one point several times in the second half but could never regain the lead.  The Saints kept it a multiple possession game the majority of the stanza before a three-pointer with 13 ticks remaining pulled the Lightning within one.

In the waning seconds, Marymount guaranteed at least overtime with a pair of free throws by Garrett Snoops to make it 51-48 with nine seconds remaining and sealed the victory with a strong defensive stand on the final LC possession.

Phil Ductan led the Lightning with 12 points.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Wednesday as it returns to Capital Athletic Conference play at Salisbury.
