Falcons Cruise to 72-50 Victory at UW-Stout

had 18 points and ten rebounds and Colin Utke (Mounds View, MN, Irondale HS) had 15 points off the bench as the Falcons cruised to a 72-50 victory at UW-Stout on Wednesday night.

The Falcons earned their second straight victory after upsetting UW-Steven's Point in overtime last Saturday.

Manor led the offense with a double double and was also 8-8 at the free throw line. Utke came off the bench and went 5-6 from the field and 4-6 from three-point range. Brian Kimble (Stevenson Ranch, CA, Coll. of Canyons JC) had 13 points and eight assists and Ollie White (Minnetrista, MN, Mound-Westonka HS) added 11 points and five rebounds. Wade Guerin (Bloomington, MN, St. Croix Lutheran HS) made his inside presence known as he grabbed 10 rebounds.

The only time the Falcons did not lead in the game was when UW-Stout opened the game with a 3-0 lead. The Falcons would then storm out to a 19 point halftime lead and never look back.

Manor's free throw with 14:49 to play in the second half gave the Falcons a 26 point lead, their largest of the game. The Blue Devils would pull it to just a ten point lead with 9:14 to play, but the Falcons would not allow a comeback as they took a 72-50 victory.

The Falcons shot 47.2 percent from the field and 77.3 percent from the free throw line. UWRF also outrebounded the Blue Devils 46-33.

UWRF walks away with their second victory against the Blue Devils this season. The first was a 72-52 victory at the Karges Center on December 14th. The Falcons now lead the all-time series 105-81.

With the victory, the Falcons improve to 14-5 overall and 8-2 in the WIAC.  The Blue Devils fall to 6-13 overall 1-9 in the WIAC.

The Falcons will stay at home for a game on Saturday, January 28th against UW-Platteville at 5 p.m.
