BRADFORD, PA - The Medaille College men's basketball team snuck out of Bradford, PA with a hard fought victory as they outlasted Pitt-Bradford (74-72) in an exciting AMCC showdown.  The Mavs survived despite struggling from the free throw line but used its dominant bench to seal the victory.

The hosts netted the games first four points before the Mavs began to take control of the game.  The game saw (11) lead changes with the Mavs controlling the vast majority of the play.  The Panthers made a late game run and erased a nine point Maverick edge to grab a pair of brief one point leads.  However, a short jumper would rim out with just a few seconds left that was gathered in by the Mavs as the clock expired, giving Medaille the victory.

The Mavs received a strong first half performance from Sean Bellomo who netted (15) points in the opening 20 minutes.  He finished with a team high (17) points on (8 of 11) shooting. Rookie Alex Baron drilled a pair of crucial three pointers in the second half en route to a ten point evening while Phil Maiarana went (4 for 8) from the floor, finishing with a dozen points in the win.

Guiding the Maverick offense was Angel Flores who dished out a game and season high nine assists to go along with four points and four boards.  Fellow senior Steve Bryant grabbed a team best seven boards while chipping in with seven points.  Junior Josh Laureano continued to shine as he came off the bench to dish out five assists while knocking down both of his field goal attempts for a four point night.

The Maverick bench continued to dominate its opposition as they outscored the Panther reserves (36-9).  The Medaille depth has been a key to their success thus far this season.  The Mavs were able to score ten points in fast break situations while they held Pitt-Bradford scoreless in that area.

The Mavs are now (17-2) overall and remain atop the AMCC standings at (11-1).  They will look for their sixth straight win when they head to Franciscan University on Saturday (1/28) for a 1:00pm conference showdown.
