SUNY Oneonta freshman Frankie Kelly scored the final six points in leading the Red Dragons to a dramatic 59-57 victory over visiting Brockport today in SUNYAC men's action.  The win for Oneonta (2-14/1-8) snapped its losing skid as they hit the road for five straight games beginning Friday night at Fredonia.

Oneonta was in control of today's game throughout the first half and into the beginning of the second half.  The Red Dragons built itself a 36-18 lead at the break before Brockport (6-9/4-4) began chipping away.

A layup by sophomore John Ivy at 13:35 cut Oneonta's lead to nine points at 39-30.  Ivy finished the game with 16 points.  Over the next six minutes, the Golden Eagles put together another 13-4 run to tie the score at 43 apiece with 7:02 remaining in the contest.  A basket by Donnell Jackson at 6:20 gave Brockport its first lead since 4-2 on a layup by Jackson at 17:38 of the first half.

Brockport held its lead and actually got to as many as seven points on a pair of free throws by Ivy with 3:52 left.

A layup by Kevin Donohue cut Brockport's lead to five points.  A pair of free throws by Kelly made the score 51-48 with 3:12 still remaining.

The two teams exchanged baskets and, after consecutive missed jumpers by Brockport, Dan Lee drilled a three-pointer to tie the game at 53 with 2:05 to go.

After a flurry of rebounds on the offensive end for Brockport that came up empty, it was Kelly that hit a runner in the lane to put Oneonta ahead to stay with 20 seconds remaining.  After a pair of misses for Oneonta at the line, the Golden Eagles tried to go full court for one last shot to tie or win the game, but Kelly knocked the ball away as time expired.

Sophomore Dan Lee led Oneonta with 17 points.  The Red Dragons outrebounded Brockport 40-24 including 14 off the offensive glass.

Jackson led all scorers in the game with 19 points hitting 6-of-7 shots from the floor and making 7-of-10 free throws.
