STORM LAKE, Iowa - Zack Barragan became Simpson's all-time 3-point leader and the Storm came away with a much-needed 68-64 win over Buena Vista on Wednesday night.

Barragan (Ankeny, Iowa) scored 20 of his game-high 27 points in the first half, going 10-for-15 from the field and hitting a career-high seven 3-pointers for the Storm (5-9, 2-4 Iowa Conference).

Barragan's seven 3-pointers are the third-most by a Simpson player in a single game, giving him 174 on his career. He surpassed Jason Parkinson's career total of 171, set from 2003-07.

Cornelius Mosby (Chicago, Ill.) added a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, appearing in a reserve role for the first time this season.

Wes Nordquist scored 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Beavers (6-8, 2-4), who have lost four in a row to Simpson dating back to the 2010-11 season.

A jumper by Chad Boston (Des Moines, Iowa) with 2:28 left broke a 61-61 tie and gave Simpson the lead for good. Nordquist made 1 of 2 free throws on the next trip before Drew Bentley (Burlington, Iowa) hit a 3 to put Simpson up four. Bentley closed the game with a pair of free throws in the final seconds.

Simpson built a 12-point lead in the first half when Barragan hit his sixth 3-pointer at the 2-minute mark. The Storm led by 11 five minutes into the second half before Nordquist hit three-straight jumpers as part of an 8-0 run that cut Simpson's lead to three.

The Storm have the weekend off but host league-leading Central (12-1, 5-0) on Monday at Cowles Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
