TREADWELL POSTS DOUBLE-DOUBLE IN 69-59 WIN OVER KEAN

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team posted a 69-59 win over NJAC rival Kean University today at the Bradley Center to improve to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference while the Cougars fall to 2-4 overall, 1-1 in the conference.

The Roadrunners jumped out to a 11-4 lead in the first half on a Stephon Treadwell jumper with 13:36 on the clock before the Cougars went on a 20-4 run that included five three pointers to take a 27-18 lead with 3:21 left in the half. The Cougars went into the locker room up ten, 35-25.

In the second half the Cougars stretched their lead to 14 early on a made jumper by Ryan Duffy, 43-29 (18:03) before Ramapo went on a 17-2 run to take a 46-45 lead with 13:54 to go in the game. Kean tied the game at 48 before Ramapo countered with a jumper by Rich Grant to tie the game at 50 with 10:27 on the clock. A 7-0 seemed to seal the win for Ramapo before Kean made a jumper and three-pointer to come within two, 57-55 (5:21). The Roadrunners stretched the lead to eight with 57 seconds left in the game on a made basket by Garret Thiel, 67-59 before Jermaine Emanuel and Theil each scored one of their foul shots for the ten point lead, 69-59.

Will Sanborn led all scorers with 26 points while sinking six three-pointers. Treadwell posted a double-double as he pulled down 13 rebounds and 12 points. Thiel added 11 points of his owl while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists. The Roadrunners shot 41% from the field and 52% from the foul line.

For Kean, Duffy, Mike Shaughnessy and Leigh Keenan each chipped in 11 points.

Ramapo returns to action on Friday, December 9th when they travel to non-conference foe Medgar Evers College for a 7:30 PM game.
