WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – A 13-4 scoring run over the final seven minutes gave Concordia University Wisconsin men's basketball a non-conference victory, 76-72, over UW-Oshkosh on Thursday night at Just A Game Field House.

CUW controlled the middle portion of the contest and led by 14 points in the early stages of the second half, the largest lead by either team in the game, before UW-O responded. The Titans used a 32-13 scoring run over an 11:44 span to take a five-point advantage with less than seven minutes to play.

With the game in limbo, CUW put the defense clamps on UW-O down the stretch and forced four turnovers and held the Titans to 2-of-9 shooting from the field. On the offensive end of the court seniors David Lopez (Chicago, Ill.) and Matt Paluchniak (Oostburg, Wis.) each made a pair of layups, while senior Mitchell Schneider (New Holstein, Wis.) sank 5-of-6 free throws to seal the victory.

"Tonight was a complete team effort on both ends of the floor," head coach Shawn Cassidy said. "We played hard for all 40 minutes and our depth caused UW-Oshkosh problems early in the game. This was a nice victory to get us back in the win column and ready for the NAC schedule again."

The victory was the third of the season over a UW opponent. The Falcons previously downed UW-La Crosse and UW-Platteville to begin the 2011-12 campaign.
