Leicester, Mass.- The longest conference winning streak in NCAA division III currently belongs to the Becker College men's basketball team, a streak that started on February 11, 2010, when the Hawks defeated Mitchell College 76-48. The Hawks reached their 20th consecutive New England Collegiate Conference victory with their December 10 defeat of Newbury College.

After winning their final five NECC games during the 2009-2010 season, the Hawks won all 14 of their conference games during the 2010-2011 season, setting the table for their 20th straight win last Saturday.

The Hawks aren't alone with extensive winning streaks in division III. Oswego State University is right on the Hawks' tail with 19 consecutive conference wins in the State University of New York Athletic Conference. Williams College, the team that knocked the Hawks out of the NCAA Tournament last year, has an 18-game winning streak in the NESCAC.

The Hawks will put their streak on the line on Tuesday, January 10 when they travel to the home of the defending conference champion Elms College at 6 p.m.
