Balanced Effort Leads Loggers To Fourth Straight Win

PARKLAND, Wash. – Six Loggers scored in double digits as the Puget Sound men's basketball team defeated Evergreen St. 88-76 on Friday. The Loggers (4-0) made 60 percent of their three-point attempts and held a 49-36 rebound advantage to key the victory.

Anthony Gittens led the rebounding effort with 12 rebounds to go along with 12 points. Edric Egberaure led the Loggers with 18 points and also added eight rebounds.

The Loggers got off to a slow start as they fell behind 6-3 in the first three minutes. However, Ryan Rogers nailed a three-pointer to give the Loggers a 10-8 lead, which they would hold for the rest of the game. Rogers finished with 12 points. His three-pointer sparked a 23-6 run that blew open a 30-14 Logger lead.

The Geoducks (0-6) fought back to close the lead to 44-37 just before the half on a three-pointer from Maurice Tolliver. Tolliver put forth a solid effort with 34 points and 17 rebounds for the Geoducks. Travis Wagner added 17 points.

Kaleb Shelton is quickly closing in on 1,000 points with 16 points in today's contest. Riggs Yarbro contributed 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench in the win.

The Loggers will take on No. 21 UW-River Falls tomorrow in Olsen Auditorium on the campus of Pacific Lutheran at 4 p.m.
