(Buffalo, NY) – A second half surge coupled with tremendous bench play led the Medaille men's baskteball team to their 10th straight win, a (74-61) toppling of D'Youville College.  The Mavs found themselves down in the early portion of the game, and knotted up at the half, before they poured it on in the closing twenty minutes en route to victory.

The victory was spearheaded by senior Ron Malicki (Machias, NY/Pioneer) who finished with a team high (14) points while pulling down (5) rebounds and blocking (2) shots.  Fellow senior Joe Mogavero (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) contributed with (10) points, (8) boards, and (2) blocks.

The key to the victory for Medaille was the play of their reserves.  The Maverick bench outscored their counterparts (34-2) with sophomore's Anthony Battaglia (Lancaster, NY/Depew) and Tyler Stevens (Depew, NY/Depew) each scoring (9) points and leading the charge.

The win pushes the Mavs to (19-5) overall and  (15-2) in conference play.  The Mavs are on the verge of their third straight twenty win season.  Should the Mavs win on Saturday (2/19) at La Roche College, they will put themselves in the drivers seat to capture Championships.
