More news about: Endicott

Newport, R.I. – The Endicott men's basketball team lost their third game in-a-row following a 95-82 defeat at the hands of TCCC rival Salve Regina. Both teams had entered the game with a 6-4 conference mark and now the Gulls are in tie for seventh place with three other teams at 6-5.

Endicott (14-9, 6-5 TCCC) freshman Lachlan Magee (Melbourne, Australia) scored a career-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor and a perfect 2-of-2 from beyond the arc to lead the Blue and Green. Fellow guard Lance Greene (Dorchester, Mass.) also reached double figures out of the starting lineup with 15 points and Endicott's bench chipped in with Chris Galbraith (Lowell, Mass.) and Spencer Calling (South Windsor, Conn.) adding 14 and 12 points, respectively.

The Gulls, however, faltered on the defensive end of the court by allowing the Seahawks to shoot 45.2% from the field including 45.0% (9-of-20) from long range for the game. Five Salve Regina players reached double-digit points with Ryan Birrell (Hope, R.I.) leading with 21 points. Birrell was an effective passer as well, completing a double-double with 10 assists.

Salve Regina's (13-9, 7-4 TCCC) Patrick Dinneen (Medfield, Mass.) and Windell Hinkson (Groton, Conn.) added 18 and 14 points in starting roles while Isiah Pringle (Queens, N.Y.) and Dan Royce (Mahwah, N.J.) came off the bench to score 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Endicott's Lance Greene led all players with nine rebounds. Lachlan Magee added seven rebounds to his total and filled out the stat sheet with two assists, a block and a steal in 34 minutes on the court.
Dinneen and Jeff Bielefeld each grabbed seven boards to lead the Seahawks and Bielefeld swatted three of Salve Regina's seven team blocks.

Endicott controlled points scored in the paint, outscoring the Seahawks 46-26. Both teams got significant contributions off the bench as the Gulls saw 32 of their points were scored by reserves compared to 29 by Salve Regina's non-starters.

Salve Regina took the lead early in the first half at 13-10 and never allowed Endicott to come any closer. The Seahawks had a 12-point halftime lead and in the second stanza stretched that advantage to as large as 20 points at 80-60 before settling on a 13-point win.

The Blue and Green will look to snap their losing skid with a crucial road contest against New England College on Wednesday, February 16th at 7:30 pm.
