Becker Gets Back On Track With Impressive Win Over Daniel Webster

Leicester, Mass.- Becker College improved to 8-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference with an impressive 75-63 win over Daniel Webster in men's basketball action.

Daniel Webster opened with game with a three pointer from Chris Hanson (Salem, Mass.), which proved to me the only lead the Eagles would hold the entire day. With the game tied at six all just 2:37 into the game Becker went on a 14-2 run, capped off with a monster drunk by Markus Wright (New Haven, Conn.).

Daniel Webster shot just over 36 percent from the field on the day. The Eagles were lead by Chris Hanson with 13 points. Eric Suarez(Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Keith Speed (Columbus, OH.) chipped in with ten points each. The loss drops Daniel Webster to 9-8 overall and 3-4 in the NECC. The Eagles will continue conference play on Tuesday when they host Lesley University at 8pm.

Becker was lead by Rajai Leggett (New Haven, Conn.) with 23 points, scoring 19 of the 23 in the second half. Leggett added ten rebounds to earn the double-double. Markus Wright took advantage of his first collegiate start by scoring 16 points and pulling down a game his 11 rebounds. Senior Trae Jacobs (Lexington Park, MD.) chipped in with 13 points. Terrance Favors (Boston, Mass.), the 13th member of the Becker College men's basketball 1,000 point club added ten points in the win.

Becker is now 16-3 on the season. The Hawks will try to remain perfect in the NECC when they travel to Wheelock one week from today.
