WASHINGTON, D.C. – Gallaudet University's three-game winning streak went up in smoke on Sunday as the visiting SUNYIT men's basketball team handed the Bison a 69-46 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) loss at the Field House. The 46 points scored are the lowest tallied by the Buff and Blue this season.

Gallaudet (10-7, 7-4 NEAC) drops back one spot in the current conference standings to third-place while SUNYIT (7-9, 6-4) moves up into fourth.

Two Wildcat players controlled the first 12 minutes of the game as preseason All-American senior David Golembiowski and senior guard Calvin Logins combined to score SUNYIT's first 31 points. Golembiowski tallied 17 of his game-high 27 points in the open stretch where the Wildcats led 31-16 with 8:06 left before halftime. The 6-foot-7 forward shot 7-of-11 from the field and drained three 3-pointers. He finished with a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds. Logins tallied 14 of his 26 points and made 5-of-6 shots from the field during the opening run. Logins scored 22 points in the first half. The 27 and 26 points surrendered are the second and third most allowed by an opponent player this season against the Bison. SUNYIT took a 43-28 into the half.

GU was led offensively by junior guard Tony Tatum (Gardendale, Ala.) who recorded team-high marks for points (12), rebounds (eight) and assists (three). Freshman Tyler Crace (Westfield, Ind.) came off the bench in the first half and made all three of his 3-point attempts. He finished the game with a career-high 12 points thanks to his 4-for-5 shooting performance from behind the 3-point line.

The Wildcats controlled the paint as they outscored the Bison 34-12 down low and netted 23 points off 18 Gallaudet turnovers. SUNYIT also had 20 second chance points as it controlled a 42-31 rebound advantage. SUNYIT sweeps the season series between the two clubs as the Wildcats won 68-65 at home back on January 8.

GU is off until next weekend when it will hit the road for two conference games against Cazenovia College on Saturday, January 29, followed by a contest at Morrisville State College on Sunday, January 30. Both games are slated to tip at 2 p.m.
