NEW YORK -- New York University's Andy Stein scored a game-high 19 points to lift the host Violets to a 62-47 win over the University of Chicago in University Athletic Association men's basketball play Sunday afternoon.

NYU (12-4 overall, 1-4 UAA) led the entire contest and was up by double figures for the game's final 13:56.

Shooting just 25% in the first half, the Maroons (5-11, 2-3) trailed 28-22 at the break. The Violets opened the second half with a 14-5 run to increase their advantage to 42-27 with 11:33 remaining in the game.

The only Maroon to net double figures, freshman Derrick Davis (Saginaw, Mich./ Bridgeport) scored a career-high 17 points. He connected on seven of 13 attempts from the field, including two of three from three-point distance.

D.J. Glavan and Ben Dorman finished with 13 and 12 points, respectively, as NYU snapped a three-game losing streak.

NYU outshot Chicago, which dropped its third in a row, 45% to 30%, while the Maroons recorded a 40-36 edge on the boards. Davis and junior Matt Johnson (Ann Arbor, Mich./ Pioneer) each collected six rebounds.

Chicago returns home next weekend for conference games against Case Western Reserve University Friday night and Carnegie Mellon University Sunday afternoon.
