Men’s Basketball: Cadets Fall Short To GNAC-Foe Albertus Magnus, 94-79

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Cadets hit the road to "The Nest" at Albertus Magnus on Saturday, where they were overcome by the Falcons, 94-79 in conference play.

Junior Antonio Davis led the Cadets in action tonight with his double-double effort, as he netted 19 points and 10 boards. Davis made seven of his 10 free-throw attempts and shot 6-of-13 from inside the arc.

Junior captain Josh Cabrera also impacted the scoreboard for NU, earning 12 points on the night with his perfect 6-of-6 showing at the free-throw line and sinking three more baskets throughout the game. He was credited with two assists and made one steal from the Falcons.

Senior Cori Boston earned three assists and made one block against the conference rivals, while also adding 11 points to the game with his 5-of-10 shooting and a good 3-pointer. Boston came up with six boards, denying the Falcons from getting a second attempt on four occasions, and making two offensive rebounds.

In his second game of the season, junior Darell Marshall added 10 points to the game, shooting 4-of-9 and draining two 3-pointers. He also earned one assist while making a block and a steal on the Falcons throughout the conference game.

The Cadets have taken a step back to a 4-5 overall record, and sit at 0-2 in the GNAC, but will be looking to pick up their first conference win early next week. That opportunity will present itself in their next game, Tuesday at 7 p.m., as they will face St. Joseph's (Maine) on the road.
