ADRIAN, Mich. - The history books were opened on Saturday (Dec. 18) as the Adrian College men's basketball team played the role of Grinch against Millikin University with a 47-29 victory over the Big Blue. Millikin managed to go without a field goal for a period of 21:41 and scored just one field goal and eight total points in the second half. The Bulldogs last held a team to 29 points all the back in the 1947-48 season with a 57-29 win over St. Mary's. It is the lowest scoring game by an Adrian opponent since the shot clock was introduced into college basketball in 1986.

"We put on a clinic in team defense tonight," said head coach Mark White. "Our guys all played so hard on the defensive end and more importantly we got a big win heading into a 10-day stretch between games. I thought we really saw everything come together on defense and that performance put a big smile of my face. We want to win with defense and rebounding."

Adrian played to their strengths all night as they worked the shot clock down and ended up being patient on offense. Adrian held a 40-26 rebounding edge allowing just five offensive rebounds all game. Millikin shot just 1-of-19 in the second half and were 11-of-44 (.250) for the contest. Adrian limited themselves to just nine turnovers and scored 11 points off of just seven Millikin miscues.

Senior Jovon Mosley notched a double-double with a game-high 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, which was one shy of his career high. Nine of those boards were on the defensive glass. Mosley was 7-of-15 from the floor. Sophomore Cody Barnes chipped in with 11 points including a 3-of-5 night from behind the arc. He was just one point off his career high. Adrian shot 39.2 percent for the contest (20-of-51) and went just 2-of-2 at the foul line for the game. Sophomore Delano Collins also had a good game with nine points, five assists and four rebounds in 33 minutes.
