The Oswego State men's basketball team forced 18 turnovers and registered seven blocks and ten steals in a 70-53 victory over Morrisville State on Friday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. Three Laker players finished in double-digits to pace the offense and move Oswego State to 6-1.  The Mustangs fell to 3-6 on the season.

The Lakers started the game on a 22-4 run, 11 of which came from senior captain Jose Uribe, who buried three three-pointers in the game's first eight minutes. Morrisville responded with a 14-5 run of its own to bring the lead down to nine. Uribe scored 17 first-half points, but did not score in the second stanza, to match a career high. Oswego State entered halftime with a 40-24 lead.

In the second half, Chad Burridge and Chris Gilkes took over the brunt of the scoring load. Burridge tallied 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds all in the second half to finish with 18 and eight, respectively. Gilkes netted all 10 of his points in the second half. Sean Michele dished out seven assists and had three steals in the contest.

Oswego State kept its lead at 14 or more for the entirety of the second half, thwarting all Mustang comeback efforts. Ater Kucjok and Dwayne Wade led Morrisville with 14 points each. Brandon Hanks chipped in 13 points of his own, including three treys.

Oswego State will return action in the New Year when it takes on St. Lawrence on Wednesday, Jan. 5.
