(Greensburg, PA) – In a game that saw both teams struggle by shooting (36.2%) from the floor the Mavs found a way to perservere as they outlasted Pitt-Greensburg (62-52) to earn their first conference victory.In the win the Mavs received double digit scoring performances from a trio of players, the leader of that group was senior Kevin Borden (Fairport, NY/Fairport) who had one of the best days of his career by pouring in a game high (17) points on (6 of 7) shooting from the floor, including a remarkable (5 of 6) from behind the arc.

Fellow seniors Ricky Reed  (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) (16 points – 7 rebounds) and Ron Malicki (Machias, NY/Pioneer) (10 points – 6 of 6 FT) also contributed to the victory.  While Joe Mogavero (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) continued to lead the team on the boards as he pulled down (8) caroms.

The win evens the Mavs record at (3-3) overall and (1-1) in AMCC play.  They will head to Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday (12/8) for an 8:00pm tip-off that will be a repeat of the past two AMCC Championship games.
