(Buffalo, NY) – The Mavs opened AMCC play by hosting rival Penn State-Behrend in what turned out to be a nip and tuck affair.  The Mavs made a late rally but were unable to overcome a nine point deficit in the games waning minutes, falling to the Lions (66-62).  This game saw twelve ties and ten lead changes.

The Mavs fell victim to the hot shooting of the visitors as Behrend shot (55.8%) from the field for the game.  The Mavs rebounded from a dismal first half shooting performance by knocking down (53.8%) of their shots from the floor in the second frame, but it would not be enough.

Senior Joe Mogavero (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore East) continued his strong play as he tallied (13) points on (4 of 6) shooting, including a thunderous one handed dunk in transition that brought the crowd to its feet.  He also continued to crash the boards, leading his team with (7) rebounds.

Fellow senior Ron Malicki (Machias, NY/Pioneer) came on in the games latter stages, finishing with a team high (14) points, while gathering six rebounds.

The loss snaps a two game win streak for Medaille and it drops them to (2-3) overall.  They will open AMCC play at (0-1).  They will look to rebound when they head to Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday (12/4) for a 3:00pm tipoff.
