Huntingdon has announced that David Gurganus has resigned from his position as head men's basketball coach.

Gurganus took over as head coach for the 2019-20 season after a year as an assistant coach at Huntingdon and previous stints at N.C. Wesleyan and Averett. His first season following previous coach Caleb Kimbrough saw the Hawks go 14-14, but the team slipped to 4-10 during the COVID season, 8-15 in 2021-22 and 2-23 this season.

"Coach Gurganus invested a lot of time, energy, effort, and mentorship into our student-athletes and the program as a whole," said athletic director Eric Levanda. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

A search to fill the position is currently underway.
